PARTICIPATE IN THE BIG GIVE! SUPPORT GLOBAL HEALTH @ CAL!

How might we change the world? How can we prepare students to be the global health leaders of tomorrow? How might we harness the potential of public health enthusiasts — so that, in the future, they can make meaningful contributions to improve maternal health and reduce mortality in children? How can we stave off emerging infectious threats or mitigate the impacts on human health due to climate change? And, how do we make meaningful improvements to the quality of our health policies and systems?

At the UC Berkeley Center for Global Public Health (School of Public Health), the answers to these questions reveal themselves in our educational endeavors, as we nurture our students through experiential mentoring and a wide-array of learning opportunities. The strength of merging global health sciences and practice, at it’s core, is it’s people. Every summer we send 10-12 fellows overseas, giving them the opportunity to work alongside local scientists and residents in other countries and learn how to successfully engage in global health research, policy, and action. Help us meet our $50,000 goal!

CGPH Fellow, Robbie Snyder: "What this fellowship meant to me"

What are the CGPH global health fellowships?

9 Years, 77 Fellows, 31 countries. $350,000+. Help us go another 10 years.

The Big Give is Cal’s annual fundraising event during Big Game week (GO BEARS!) — kicking off at 9 pm PST on Wednesday, November 16 and running through 9 pm PST on Thursday, November 17, 2016. The Big Give is an opportunity for the entire Cal community — alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends — to come together to support your favorite schools and programs financially, and help those schools and programs win additional prize money through participation in social media contests.

All BIg Give gifts to the UC Berkeley Center for Global Public Health go to global health fellowships, directly to the 2017 fellows cohort, UC Berkeley students. You can also make a gift to a different area within CGPH, just be sure to specify that.

Help us reach our $50,000 goal! From the smallest gift to the biggest, your generosity to Berkeley holds truly transformative power on campus and in the world at large.
