CGPH fellow explores NCDs and food culture in Trujillo, Peru

/ / News

Shane Fallon is a UC Berkeley School of Public Health Masters student who was awarded a Center for Global Public Health Reporting Fellowship this summer. Her summer project takes her to Peru, to explore the urban city of Trujillo and how its dietary changes have created a public health crisis of noncommunicable diseases. As one of CGPH’s first global health reporting fellows, co-sponsored with the UCB School of Journalism, she is in Peru for 15 weeks with just a backpack and camera in tow. Check out Shane’s beautiful photos and regularly updated global health summer experience here.
